The Fields at RFK is the first phase in the master plan redevelopment of the RFK stadium campus.  Designed as an athletic and events space, RFK Fields replaces an existing urban brownfield site with premier multi-sport fields and event facilities in a park like setting.  It has created a destination that contributes to community engagement, activity, and wellness for both local residents and the DC region.

Learning Objectives: After attending this presentation, participants will be able to: Understand the value that the project provides to the District and the local community as a key part of the transformation of the RFK campus, creating and contributing to a variety of economic and social opportunities; Understand the ecological and social benefits of creating green open space in a dense urban setting by converting an urban brownfield site into a community asset; Gain an understanding of the design challenges of the site and how it allows for flexibility of uses in the present and into the future; and understand how the project provides and improves the wellness of the city and community through social interaction, physical well being, education, and   economic opportunity.
