The Washington Architectural Foundation would like to invite students ages 16-18 to apply for the second annual Summer Camp Counselor-in-Training program.

This program takes place during the week of DACkids Summer Camp (7/22-7/26). All Accepted students will take an active role in planning daily ice breaker activities, taking leadership roles during assignments throughout the week, assisting with set-up and break-down, and help plan the final presentation at the end of the camp. The goal of our Counselor-in-Training program is to give students an opportunity to gain leadership skills, along with better understanding of architecture. Each accepted student will go through a short evaluation with the Counselor in Training Coordinator at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week. the evaluation process is meant to help students build confidence and skills to help them go further in the field of architecture.

Apply by June 17th

As part of the application process, you will be required to submit a letter of reference as well as a on-page statement on your interest in architecture and why the Counselor in Training program is important to you.

Important Dates:
Accepted students will be notified by June 21st.
There will be an orientation on June 28th that all participants will be required to attend.
There will be planning meetings on July 15th and July 19th.
Summer Camp in session July 22nd - July 26th.

At the conclusion of the camp, all CIT's will be taken to lunch, where a featured speaker will present about their role with WAF and their career in Architecture.
