Water efficiency goes beyond plumbing fixtures requiring a building science systems and multidisciplinary approach to be successful. The WaterSense Homes Version 2.0 Labeling Program provides guidance for architects and builders to continue pushing the envelope on water efficiency through regionally appropriate design strategies that leverage national and local green certification programs. This session will showcase examples of how designing and building homes with various water-saving strategies, such as efficient hot water distribution systems and appropriate landscaping, can increase a home’s overall efficiency and improve the homeowner’s experience.

Learning Objectives: After attending this presentation, participants will be able to: Understand the WaterSense Homes Version 2.0 Labeling Program; Understand water efficiency requirements of different national and/or local certification programs and how they relate to WaterSense; Choose regionally appropriate indoor water-saving design strategies; and choose regionally appropriate outdoor water-saving design strategies.
