11:00am - 12:00pm
This is a overview of a game changing technology that allows Rhino and
Grasshopper to run inside Revit. Now use the power of both products together in an integrated workflow. This is a presentation for anyone wanting to improve their BIM process.
Rhino and Grasshopper are becoming popular tools for architectural designers. But the quick flexible design work that is so useful in the early stages of design can limit how useful the models are in the rest of the BIM process using Revit. This presentation will look at different workflows using the Rhino.Inside.Revit technology to integrate these early models and jumpstart the BIM process. Presenters will show workflows based on project phases,including best practices and common pitfalls to avoid.
Presented by: Scott Davidson and Ehsan Iran-Nejad
Scott Davidson is an applications specialist for Rhino, Grasshopper and the far-reaching sets of plugins available to all designers and engineers.
Ehsan Iran-Nejad is an Architect, of actual buildings, creator and maintainer of pyRevit open-source project, and a Rhino.Inside.Revit team member at McNeel.
They team together to produce Rhino.Inside.Revit as it bridges the gap
between Rhino/Grasshopper and Revit.
Organized by: AIA|DC Technology Committee
Sponsored by: SmithGroup
At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Understand the use of Rhino.Inside.Revit to automate the generation of BIM models in Revit;
Discern the best practices and some troubleshooting techniques when working with Revi;
Identify how improvements in the transfer of geometry and BIM information benefits to both the design team and BIM process; and
Explore the best methods for model transfer for specific project types and sizes.
