Clumsy Monsieur Hulot finds himself perplexed with the intimidating complexity of a gadget-filled Paris. Soon although he tries to meet with a business contact becomes lost. His roundabout journey parallels that of the American tourist, and they normally meet, developing an interest in one another, as they weave through the urban environment that is inventive. They get together at a disorderly restaurant, along with a lot of quirky characters.
