Join us for a tour of the newly constructed Southwest Library along with some of the key members from the design team. This 1 hour guided tour will offer insights on research methodology, design process, sustainable strategies, challenges and lessons learned on the 25,000 sf LEED Platinum certified award winning library. The building tour will end with a happy hour in the neighborhood with opportunity to network, socialize and explore.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify key building systems and program elements relating to successful library design.
- Describe how public buildings are approaching complex issues relating to Resilience & Environmental Design today.
- Identify issues and solutions surrounding preserving and strengthening local communities and neighborhoods; and
- Identify strategies relating to sustainable and innovative material usage.
