Join Simon Jacobsen, founding partner of Jacobsen Architecture, LLC, for a look at the last years and legacy of his father Hugh Newell Jacobsen, FAIA (1929–2021), their collaboration over the past 20 years, and his eventual succession as Principal and owner of the firm.

Jacobsen’s new 224-page book, American Modern Home, will be on hand for purchasing before the talk and signing afterward. The book, an expression of eloquent design featuring interiors, exteriors, and gardens, examines twelve of the firm’s recent houses around the United States.

Simon Jacobsen is a founding partner of the internationally acclaimed architectural firm Jacobsen Architecture, LLC with his father Hugh Newell Jacobsen, FAIA (1929-2021).

Jacobsen’s work, focusing on custom residential, commercial, and institutional design, as well as interiors, furniture, and lighting design, spans the United States, Caribbean, Europe, and Asia.

His work has been widely published in print and on television: The Wall Street Journal, Casa VOGUE, HGTV's Extreme Homes, Architectural Digest, The Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, HGTV and hundreds of internet publications and design blogs. Residential Architect Magazine listed Jacobsen Architecture in the top 50 design firms in the U.S. and Architectural Digest lists Hugh and Simon Jacobsen in the top 100 of architects and designers internationally. Jacobsen is also an inductee of Architectural Digest’s AD100.
