Construction Tour: Coolidge Senior High School

Join AIA|DC's Emerging Architects Committee for a construction tour of Coolidge Senior High School (CSHS).  This high school is an historically significant facility that, in its new configuration, will house a high school, a middle school, a community health clinic and a day care center.

CSHS maintains its historic entry on the west side of the building rising above street level to be entered from the first floor.  In order to meet the programmatic requirements of the schools, it was necessary to renovate and reorganize the existing facility and to also develop new construction space.

This DC Public School is a design-build project in conjunction with Fanning-Howey and Turner Construction.

The group will meet at the on-site construction trailer 15 minutes prior to the tour beginning.  Please note that this tour takes place on an active construction site. Personal Protective Equipment includes hardhats, safety glasses, pants, and closed-toed shoes or boots will be required for the tour.

We highly encourage you to bring your own gear as there will be limited quantities available to loan on a first come, first served basis.

Happy hour to follow immediately after the tour at 3 Stars Brewing Company for all those interested in joining.
