The Building Energy Performance Standards (or BEPS) is a regulatory tool that the District is using to help meet its green building and climate goals. A BEPS sets a minimum threshold for energy performance for buildings. This will affect the design, construction, and operation of every building in DC over 10,000 sq. ft. The draft rules for BEPS were recently published and are open for public comment until February 2, 2021.
Join AIA|DC and industry experts for an information session about the regulation and how architects should adjust their practice accordingly. The presentation will be followed by breakout groups to discuss questions and comments about the regulation. We will discuss planning for compliance and gather questions and comments from attendees with a focus on the following typologies:
- Commercial Office
- Multifamily Affordable Housing
- Multifamily Market-rate Housing
