Join members of the AIA|DC and DC NOMA boards to discuss ways architects can support the AAPI community. We must act together to defend our collective community. To read the joint board statement, click here. Join us to engage in the conversation and learn about steps the boards are taking to support social justice.
In addition, as an individual architect, designer, AIA member, and NOMA member, we encourage you to do the following things to stand with the AAPI community:
- At the office: we encourage you to have a conversation with your Asian colleagues. Some kind words at the end of the email or some talks after a visual meeting will be a great encouragement to them.
- At a firm meeting: You can ask/set up a discussion or other forms of conversation in your office, encourage people to get involved, and discuss these topics openly.
- On social media: You can share the news or messages about these hate crimes via social media to raise awareness in your networks.
- On the street: Keep your eyes open. Call 911 if you see someone being harassed.
