The Equity Committee seeks to provide a platform for visibility & engagement to further Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity in the design community.
Goals
- Maintain relationships and communications with key sponsors
- Host a quarterly networking happy hour.
- Continue our partnership with DC NOMA, LA.IDEA, and AADU to host the Our Forum, Our Impact Series
- Host a WIELD (Women Inspiring Emerging Leaders in Design) event in the fall.
- Partner with organizations to host smaller "Speakeasy" events.
- Donate all proceeds from events to the WAF scholarship program and Design Like a Girl program.
- Provide opportunities to volunteer in the community, including the Girls Mentoring Program.
