The AADU is a platform for empowering Asian American architects, designers, and engineers to grow personally and collectively. Our goal is to motivate professional development, foster leadership skills, and promote collaboration within and beyond the Washington, D.C. area.
AADU will keep working towards our goals: advocate for the growth of the Asian American designers within and beyond the Washington, D.C. area, as well as motivate individual professional developments and provide networking opportunities to promote dissemination cross-pollination of Asian cultures in the design community.
Because of the severe influence from COVID-19, our events in 2020 were all changed to online conferences and panel discussions. In the coming year, we will actively explore the possibility of new forms of events. Meanwhile, high-qualified online activities will still be our focus.
With the complex social and political situations we are facing in the coming year, the theme of our events will place extra emphasis on social justice through constant discussions about the role of designers, the opportunities of using design tools to explore and share ways to reshape our communities, and the chances to make our voices heard.
Please see the AIADC calendar for AADU committee meetings and other events.
