2017 Washingtonian Award Winners

On Tuesday, June 6, 2017, AIA|DC hosted deliberations of the jury determining 2017's Washington Residential Design Awards. During the roundtable held following winner selection, the panel explained elements of a quality application. Jurist Jason Forney, AIA LEED AP, lauded the Chapter for presenting "a fantastically diverse set of well-designed buildings."

To encourage excellence in local residential architecture, the WASHINGTONIAN magazine and the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA|DC) have held the annual Washingtonian Residential Design Awards Program for 35 years. Distinctive residential projects, regardless of size or classification, are recognized on the basis of excellence in total design, including aesthetics, programmatic response and sustainability.
