What’s New
Architecture Week is coming!
Come learn how architects see the world!
September 10th – 30th, 2010
Architecture Week is a series of public events that celebrate architecture in the nation's capital. With this 12th celebration, we shine a spotlight on something unique to Washington: the presence of so many foreign embassies and institutions that have unique and interesting architectural heritages. With each celebration of Architecture Week we find more events; this year's "week" is actually three weeks long! The celebration begins and ends with receptions honoring the winners of the AIA|DC Chapter's design awards. This is the public's opportunity to see the best in Washington and world architecture!
Our newest additions to Architecture Week include:
- A hard-hat tour of the United States Institute of Peace Headquarters
- Lessons of Modern Rome, a lecture by National Building Museum
Senior Vice President and Curator, G. Martin Moeller
- A tour of American University's School of International Service
- A curator-led exhibit tour of Art by the Yard: Women Design Mid-Century Britain
- A home for Capitol Pecha Kucha at the Atlas Theater
...plus many more!
