Are you trying to make your resume and portfolio stand out from the crowd? Frustrated with the lack of resources for job-hunting architecture and design professionals? Join the AIA|DC Emerging Architects Committee for a resume and portfolio workshop addressing hiring in the architecture field.
The morning will begin with remarks from Rob Holzbach, who will focus on what happens behind-the-scenes during the hiring process at a typical architecture firm. He will discuss how firms find and select candidates to interview, what makes a successful resume package, and what they look for in an interview. Rob is the Director of Staff Operations and an Associate Principal at Hickok Cole Architects. He is currently a member of the AIA|DC Board.
Following the presentation there will be a series of one-on-one or small group critiques of resumes and portfolios by local practitioners. Participants should bring a resume and/or portfolio in any state of completion or none at all. Bring what you have or just attend to see what others are doing.
