2008 ARE Prep Course Series Overview

AIA|DC offers an ARE Prep Course series designed to help candidates prepare for the licensing exam administered by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). The courses are generally held three times a year: spring, fall and winter.

Winter ARE Prep Course Series

One seminar is dedicated to each of the six multiple choice sections of the ARE exam (Pre-Design, General Structures, Lateral Forces, Mechanical and Electrical Systems, Building Design/Materials & Methods, Construction Documents). Seminars are led by AIA members who bring their years of knowledge and experience to an informative review session that helps candidates to become familiar with the basic material covered in each section of the exam.

General Information

Seminars are held at the AIA|DC Chapter House, 1777 Church Street, NW, Washington, DC, 20036, 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (street parking only; Metro suggested: Red Line to Dupont Circle).

Class size is limited to 25 students, so we encourage you to sign up early! Member discounts apply ONLY to AIA members with a valid AIA member number.

Registration: registration will open six weeks before classes are scheduled to begin.

Please note that there are NO CANCELLATIONS and NO REFUNDS of registration fees. Dates, times & Instructors subject to change at the discretion of AIA|DC. Dates and times do occasionally change. If you cannot attend a rescheduled date, a credit will be offered towards a future class.
