ONGOING PROGRAMS:
Mentoring Workshop
The AIA|DC|EA Mentoring Workshop brings together interns and recently-licensed architects on a monthly basis to discuss topics relating to the Intern Development Program, practice and licensure. Each month a different topic is discussed but time is available after initial discussion for open question-and-answer. New interns and mentors are always welcome!
ARE Prep Course
Two times a year AIA|DC offers a seven-session ARE Prep Course to provide potential test-takers with an overview of the exams and topic areas covered. Licensed professionals lead each class—which includes a practice exam and light dinner. Click here for more information.
ARE 4.0 Prep Material Library
Planning on taking the ARE soon? Our Prep Material Library is an excellent way to refresh your architectural knowledge. For more information about fees and study materials, please click here. Curious about material availability or interested in making a reservation? Call Sarah Smith, Program Manager for Education and Events, at 202.667.1798.
“Architecture Uncensored” Lecture Series
You’ve got your license. Now what? Each fall the committee organizes an informal series of presentations and receptions focused on the young licensed architect. Topics previously covered include: starting a firm, risk and liability, marketing, and insurance. Check the online calendar for more information and upcoming dates.
AIA|DC Emerging Architect Award
Each year the chapter honors an emerging architect who has made a significant contribution to the profession at an early stage in his or her career. The celebrated work can be design-oriented, or service to the AIA or larger community. The recipient is honored at the Annual Awards Gala held in the fall. Check the Call for Entries website for more information.
